Making baby food...

So I've been making Emmeline's food for a few weeks and we both are enjoying it. She still eats some store-bought foods, but a lot is home pureed fruits and veggies.

So far we've tried sweet potatoes, butternut squash, yellow squash, broccoli, green beans, avocado, chicken, peaches, blueberries, pears and bananas. She has loved it all, as you can see in that picture! I've also gotten a stash of food cubes stored in the freezer, which is the only way a working person could handle doing this, in my opinion. I try to do two to four ice cube trays worth every weekend.
Next up, English peas and more green beans!

How's the bread-making going? I checked out the book from the library this week (I've been on the waiting list since you first posted about it!) but haven't tried anything yet.

Hey Barb. The breadmaking is going well. I really love how easy that book makes it. I'll do a bread post this week. My latest bread was the avocado guacamole bread and it was super!

I could never get Reese to eat my homemade green bean baby food. I guess it was hard to get the consistency right for her liking. Butternut squash was her favorite. And I totally want to hear more about the avocado guacamole bread!

Rachel, Emmeline would eat anything I put in front of her. She must have a hollow leg. The consistency can surprise her at first, but after a few bites she gets used to it. I mix some rice cereal into the runny foods to thicken it up. I also mix avocado into her dinner every night. It helps a lot with the consistency. More on that bread this week. I need to get the pictures off of the camera...
