The roof, the roof...

Well, it's not on fire, but it is on the upper level.
Yahoo! David got that part on today.

We went with the highest gauge galvalum (which is really classic metal roof silver) with no exposed screws. David has learned a lot about how to install it and we are saving about $10,000 by putting it on ourselves. He said that the roof itself isn't as difficult as the flashings and trim pieces. Anyway, here are two more pictures.
Another front view.
And from the back.

We also passed the framing and electrical inspections. We are free to go ahead and start on the brick, but the sheet rock will have to wait until the plumbing inspection.

Also, happy Earth Day! If you are looking for a way to celebrate, may I recommend the following:
Two-Bite Chocolate Macaroons from Whole Foods. YUM!

They are sooooo good. Two of them are only 130 calories and much more satisfying than a 100 calorie pack desert.

Have a reduce/reuse/recycle-able day
